BRIAN FERGUSON

I Had a brain stem stroke following heart surgery, which led to locked-in syndrome. Even though I was fully aware of my surroundings, I was paralyzed and unable to speak. I was only able to move my eyes. I am avid hunter, a business owner, and love the Nevada backyard so this has been absolutely devastating. I currently rely on my wife for my everyday needs.

Shortly after my stroke I went to a rehab facility in Chicago, where I made tremendous progress. I went from only being able to move my eyes and my left hand to being able to walk 400 feet with a cane in a harness system during my rehab there. After 8 months in Chicago, I returned home to Reno and started working with JD right away. My therapist in Chicago referred us to him as they had just recently worked with a mutual patient and highly recommended us contacting JD.
In just the 4 months working with him, I have continued to make great progress. He is constantly pushing and motivating me to move forward towards my goals. With JD, I am now starting to walk without a cane and have gained significant strength in my right leg along with the ability to control and coordinate my movements more fluidly. JD is highly in-tuned to my challenges and his experience has been instrumental in my continued improvement.

STEVE PARISH

I suffered a major stroke in March 2021 at the age of 63. For most of that year I tried various therapy providers with limited success.
In the spring of 2022, I found JD Allbright. It was immediately life changing.

JD has brought hope and instilled a “can do” approach to my life. I am now considering re-entering the work force in the investment banking industry.I continue to see JD twice a week. He has become a trusted friend as well as an excellent therapist. He is professional, compassionate and he brings a level of knowledge that is simply rare to find. Going from barely being able to walk to now walking without the use of a cane and bulky AFO has been incredible. Along with my wife, Monica, the level of care and support has been outstanding.Without JD and Monica, I would not be here today….

Today, I am riding a bike and working out 5 days a week. The days I am not in therapy I do a full circuit of weights at the gym….activities I thought unimaginable two years ago when I first met JD. I could go on and on with glowing comments on JD, but simply put - he is a life changer. He has a true calling, and he is meeting the needs of disadvantaged people like me. The world could use more people like JD.

KATHY COOVER

My name is Kathy Coover. I am a busy executive and have been a competitive athlete all my life. I had the worst hip injury of my life and was in severe pain and could not walk, work out, or even walk up stairs.
I was flat on my back for 2 weeks and went to a physical therapy center. The physical therapist just worked on my IT band for 10 minutes and then sent me over to do some exercises. I received NO benefit from this treatment.

Then a friend referred me to JD. He came to my house and did an assessment on me. He then started treating me twice a week. He performed stretching, trigger releases and deep massage on my hip. After the first treatment I felt some relief.

He then took me to my gym and encouraged me to start working out again. Frankly, I was afraid to work out my legs and hips because I thought I would re-injure myself. He showed me many exercises that made a huge impact. His positive attitude was extremely helpful.

Within 3 weeks I was pain free and walking upstairs. Now I have my life back. JD's tender care was greatly appreciated, and I would recommend him to anyone that has an injury or wants to take their fitness to the next level.

ROB ALSTON

My name is Rob Alston and I am currently living In Maui. I had the pleasure of working with JD for 4 months after I suffered a complete tear of my ACL which I had surgically repaired at 47. The injury was devastating for me. I am a very active guy that loves snowboarding, mountain biking, and surfing.

Working with JD accelerated my recovery immensely. He got me safely active within a couple months of my surgery, which was way ahead of schedule. I was able to mountain bike and stand up paddle within a couple months of my surgery. This seemed impossible at the time and without JD’s help it most certainly would have been. I am now back to 100% normal activity for my lifestyle.

JD was always incredibly focused, and I really felt like he was invested in my healing. A perfect example is: One morning, I slipped on the stairs and was worried that I had re-torn my ACL. JD immediately came to my house to get his hands on and help assess my knee, which ended up being ok.

I highly recommend working with JD. He takes the time to get to know you and is truly invested in you as an individual. This experience is like no other experience I have had in a traditional PT clinic.

CINDY FAIRFIELD

I am a very active, 57-year-old, living in Minden NV. Outside of my annual plans to snowboard all winter & travel, I also had trips planned over the summer. During a remodel of my home in Tahoe, a handyman's extra-large, very active dog decided to take a spin through the house. The perfect storm happened when he crashed into my knee and severed my ACL. That was June 29th.

My summer plans changed in a second. I did some homework and decided to do the Bear Implant and found a great local surgeon. I have had numerous surgeries in my life, but this one definitely threw me a curve ball. Surgery took place on 8/11.

I found JD through a quick local search. I wanted the freedom to be in my home to do the work needed and he was the best choice! JD fit me in right away and reassured me that he would get me back the mobility and strength I desired.

To be honest, this was the hardest recovery out of so many other surgeries. It was a challenge between lack of confidence and physical strength. I had always had high pain tolerance and was able to push through anything. Losing my ability to go, go, go really got into my head from time to time. JD was very supportive, communication was fluid and any time I felt discouraged, he was there to remind me how strong I was and would be again.

I am moving into week 11, post op and a few weeks ahead of the game. It has definitely been the partnership between JD and I working hard each day to get stronger and more flexible. I wouldn't trade his expertise and care for anything! I have no doubt that I will be running and hiking soon and hitting those slopes in 2024!
